Meet the CHRO Speakers
Tanya Hughes, Executive Director
Tanya Hughes was named Executive Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities on November 13, 2013. She has had a 30-year distinguished career at the Commission, providing consistent and effective leadership. Her administration has focused on increasing staffing levels improving relations with the public and other agencies, and enforcing the state’s anti-discrimination laws. During her tenure as Executive Director, CHRO was awarded numerous Partnership grants, developed a new Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and advanced numerous bills into law while providing continual training during an unprecedented pandemic. Tanya is married to Larry Hughes, and they are proud parents to three adult daughters. |
Spencer Hill, Attorney
Spencer Hill works for the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities as a Human Rights Attorney specializing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, contract compliance, and affirmative action, as well as the intersection of technology and discrimination. Spencer received his B.A. from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He currently resides in Simsbury, CT. |
